Discussion: When Does Back to School Start in San Antonio in 2026?

Hello everyone,

With the 2026–27 school year approaching, I thought it would be useful to discuss Back to School San Antonio 2026 dates.

One interesting point is that there isn't one single start date for every San Antonio-area school district. Several districts begin classes on August 10, while San Antonio ISD and some other districts begin August 12. North East ISD begins August 17, Southwest ISD begins August 24, and Comal ISD begins August 25. Edgewood ISD has campus-specific dates.


This makes it important for parents to check their individual district calendar rather than assuming that every school starts on the same day.
