Mohenjo-daro Location Explained: Geography and Ancient Urban Planning

Mohenjo-daro was situated in the Indus Valley in what is now Sindh, Pakistan. Its position near the Indus River was part of the geographical context of the ancient settlement. UNESCO places the site approximately 28 km from Larkana.



The site's archaeological remains also reveal an organized urban structure, including a citadel and lower city with streets laid out in a highly ordered pattern.
