Mohenjo-daro provides an important example of early urban planning.

The archaeological remains include two major sectors, with the citadel area in the west and the lower city extending to the east. UNESCO describes the lower city as having streets arranged in an orderly pattern, together with drainage and sanitation systems.



A site plan can help learners understand the physical organization of the settlement and identify its major archaeological areas.
