Nepal Teacher's Quick Response Saves Students

A remarkable rescue story has emerged from Nepal following devastating flash floods.

Rajendra Dawadi, principal of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Nuwakot, received warnings that floodwaters were approaching the school. He quickly instructed teachers to evacuate students and also contacted school-bus drivers.


Reports say 1,643 children were moved to safety before the school was swept away by the flood.

The incident demonstrates why emergency communication and rapid evacuation procedures are essential in schools located in disaster-prone areas.
