One of the most interesting aspects of
Mohenjo-Daro is its urban organization.
The ancient settlement was part of the Indus Civilization and was located in present-day Sindh, Pakistan. UNESCO describes its lower town as following a strict layout, with streets intersecting at right angles.

The city also had wells, drainage systems, soak pits and public bathing structures.
This raises an interesting question: how did people thousands of years ago organize such a large urban settlement?
A
Mohenjo-Daro map provides part of the answer by showing how different sections of the city were arranged.
The Campus Review guide explores the city’s location, layout and historical significance, making it a useful starting point for anyone interested in Indus Civilization archaeology.
